Personal hygiene care is about caring to be a clean and well groomed person. The primary concern will be ensuring the person is prevented from contracting as well as spreading diseases. Especially for diabetic person, personal hygiene is an area that needs special care to prevent any infection that could lead to the increase of blood glucose levels in the body.

Daily hygiene care will cover dental care, skin care, foot care, eye care. The more important aspects will be having a good toilet practices, wound care and hand washing.
Brush teeth from top to bottom in gentle circular motion at least two times a day. Flossing every night is also important and brush your tongue too to clean away any possible germs in the mouth before going to bed. Poor dental hygiene has been linked to gum diseases such as gingivitis and periodonititi.
Greatly affect diabetic patient with lower natural defense level, always clean your hand before changing the dressing, clean and change dressing daily.
Especially after using public restroom, wash your hand and wipe them clean. Restroom is the main places with highest germs and high possibility to contract infectious illnesses.
Avoid spreading illnesses
Practice good personal hygiene also includes covering your mouth when sneezing or coughing and dispose used tissue properly.
